Our research is focused on a large chronological span, ranging from the Middle Pleistocene to the very present. Our multidisciplinary staff adopt the most up-to-dated techniques for studying the past of Central Sahara, with a specific focus on the SW Libya.
We are actively engaged in rescue and preventive archaeological operations, and in the preparation of heritage managment plans for the Libyan Department of Archaeology. We are deeply committed to the fruibility, preservation, and sustainability of Libyan and Saharan fragile heritage.
The Mission publishes its 'Arid Zone Archaeology' Monograph Series. Selected publications and a list of bibliographic references can be found here.
